Twitter has now restored senators account after Musk reaches out to him.
Twitter suspended Montana Republican Senator Steve Daines Monday, all because of a picture he posted of he and his wife with a harvested Pronghorn Antelope.
Twitter says the picture constituted "graphic Violence" and is against Twitter policies. Twitter told the Senator Monday that you can not post pictures in your header or profile picture showing graphic violence. Twitter added, we consider graphic violence to be any gory picture of death.
Daines tells Fox News Digital that the whole thing is Preposterous. He says hunting is a way of live in Montana and besides, my wife is a great shot. Daines got the word from Twitter Monday night. His office has now reached out to Twitter to get the matter resolved. Daines office says the picture that put him in Twitter jail has been up on Twitter for over a month. The picture was taken in October of 2022 and has been used of Facebook and Instagram without a problem. The Senator says he will not remove the picture from Twitter.
This is from a press release that came this afternoon from Senator Daines office.
“I am grateful Elon Musk reached out to me to resolve this issue and am glad that he recognizes that free speech is a bedrock of our country, and acted quickly to reinstate my Twitter account after being made aware of its suspension. The initial ban over the profile photo of my wife and me after a successful Montana antelope hunt was disappointing given the fact that it is no different than photos Montanans share on social media every day. It’s our Montana way of life and we are proud of it. I am glad Elon Musk recognizes this. The rest of the country benefits from the acceptance of diverse thoughts and values, including Montana values.”
We did some searching and found a similar picture of Daines and his wife. This picture has been up for months on his facebook page.
Here are some more pictures (JOKING) of Daines in what Twitter might call graphic violence.
