According to a new study from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration, wireless data usage among Americans was just over 100 trillion megabytes in 2023.
That is a 36% jump from 2022 and the largest one-year rise in wireless data.
Obviously, as 5G continues to sweep the nation and more individuals become reliant on wireless data, those numbers will continue to increase.
Believe it or not, the number of wireless connections in the United States increased by about 6% to 558 million.

Given Montana's overall population, it's no surprise that our data usage is not incredibly high compared to other states and the nation.
But it is still nothing to bat an eye at.
Like the rest of the nation, Montana has seen an increase in data usage year after year.

- 60.5% of Internet users in Montana utilize a desktop computer, computer, laptop, or tablet.
- 71.1% of Montana's have home Internet.
- 62.4% of Internet users in Montana say they have high-speed Internet in their homes.
- 53.1% of Montana residents don't use the Internet. They say the reason is because they don't need it.
- Of non-Internet users in Montana, 4.1% say it's unavailable in their area.
- 25.7% of the Treasure State's Internet users use the Internet to work from home.
- 68.6% of Internet users use the service to stream and download media.
