Great Falls Students Raise Big Money For Summer Reading
Even though I wasn't a big reader growing up, I remember receiving new books as always being incredibly exciting!
Students at one of Great Falls Elementary Schools went above and beyond to ensure that fellow students had books for the summer.
Lewis and Clark Elementary students raised a whopping $24,710 to buy books for summer reading.
Books Are Fun - Book Blast
The Books Are Fun-Book Blast is an initiative to promote reading among kids regardless of their background.
Books Are Fun has been helping provide students with books for 33 years.
Through this collaboration, all 342 Lewis and Clark Elementary students will receive at least four books.
Students who raise $135 will get 10 brand-new books.
Books For Summer Reading
On May 9, 2024, 96 boxes containing 1963 brand-new books were delivered to Lewis and Clark Elementary.
The books came individually packaged for all the students at the school.
Summer Ready Book Reveal
The students at Lewis and Clark Elementary will receive their book packages on May 23 at 2:50 PM
As mentioned before, each student will get a minimum of four books each for their summer reading.
All 342 students will line the hallways as the book packages are passed out.
The students will have the opportunity to share and discuss their new books with classmates before heading home for the day.
