So who is the most famous person to ever come out of Montana. Right away I think of one guy, Evel Knievel. The greatest daredevil of all time, right?
But as I was reading the other day I noticed another big name, and another big name, and another. Here's one that should be at the top of the list, actor Gary Cooper. He was nominated for five academy awards and won one. He was born in Helena.
When you think of Montana you also have to think of Phil Jackson. He won 11 NBA titles. Ten as a coach. He's from Deer Lodge.
How about actor Dana Carvey. He's from Missoula. Famous for Saturday Night Live.
I am a big Pearl Jam fan and the bassist for the hall of fame rock group is from Havre and Big Sandy, Jeff Ament.
Actress Myrna Loy was born in Helena. She starred in many Hollywood movies. She died in 1993 and is buried in Helena.
How could we not put Jerry Kramer on the list. He was from Jordan, Montana. He was an offensive lineman for the Green Bay Packers and is in the hall of fame.
Actor Patrick Duffy was from Townsend. He was probably most famous for that great TV show, Dallas.

This list would not be complete without adding Jeannette Rankin the first woman to ever serve in the U.S. Congress. She was from the Missoula area.
