A Great Falls Man And A Lewistown Woman Have Been Arrested For Stealing.

An 18 year old Great Falls man who has been in trouble with the law before is back in jail today, this time for allegedly stealing a vehicle.  Montana Covington was taken into custody over the weekend.  Also arrested with Covington was 18 year old Jordan Hopper.

According to charging documents,  they allegedly stole the vehicle from a man they were once living with.  The victim in the case told police that his Black Mazda was taken from in front of his house in the 1700 block of Smelter Avenue NE back on March 7th.  The victim says he kicked the two out of his house recently but Hopper came back at 6pm on the evening of March 7th to get some food.  He thinks she then took the car keys. Video surveillance shows the two getting in to the car and leaving.

The  vehicle was later found parked in a church parking lot in Lewistown.  When Lewistown Police checked surveillance video at the church parking lot they saw the two suspects and police recognized Hopper because of past encounters with her.  Hopper apparently lived in a house near the church.

Hopper is charged with theft and her bond has been set at $30,000.  Covington has been charged with theft, criminal endangerment, attempting to flee police and resisting arrest.  His bond is also $30,000.
