Since artificial intelligence began to take over the headlines, people have been worried about their jobs.

After all, who wants to pay an expensive employee salary when a robot can do the same job for a fraction of that?

Of course, none of the artificial intelligence companies want to discuss the potential economic impacts of this new technology, but it seems inevitable that it will have an effect.

The recent Future of Jobs Report released by the World Economic Forum gave a sobering look at what many employees will face.

Workforce Reductions

The World Economic Forum's Future of Jobs report found that at least four in 10 companies globally are considering workforce reductions due to artificial intelligence's capabilities.

To conduct the study they, surveyed 1,043 companies.

I don't know about you, but that is a bit worrisome.

The report revealed that 41% of employers plan to shrink their workforce within the next five years, assuming that artificial intelligence can replicate human tasks.

Adapting To Artificial Intelligence

The only positive aspect of this report is that about 77% of the employers surveyed said they would commit to reskilling and upskilling their employees to better collaborate with artificial intelligence systems.

Now is the time to do whatever possible to make yourself more valuable in the workplace because robots will take over if we're not careful.
