According to a study from IPSOS, which focuses on consumer behavior during the COVID-19 pandemic, almost 1/3 of Americans, or 31%, said they prefer living in the suburbs.

That is compared to about 16% who prefer urban areas and 24% who favor rural communities.

Small towns can have some struggles, such as the lack of restaurants and amenities.

But one thing is for sure: the slower pace of life is welcomed by many!

To find the best small towns in America, WalletHub examined 1,300 US cities with populations between 25,000 and 100,000.

The findings were based on 45 key indicators of liability.

These indicators range from the cost of housing to the school system, and they even looked at the quality and quantity of restaurants per capita.

  • Bozeman was rated the highest of the Montana cities that made the list. We all know Bozeman has its challenges, but according to the study, it's one of the best small cities in America.
  • Helena is the second-best small city in Montana.
  • Missoula was only one point off of Helena.
  • And last but not least, Great Falls, Montana, is ranked among the best small cities in America.
