Dance, Eat And Socialize All While Supporting A Great 4-H Program
Chestnut Valley 4-H Club is putting on a fund raising event. Clair McKamey gave us the details.
Clair: We're doing a 4-H fundraiser dance on May 6th. It's at the Wadsworth Hall in Cascade. It's to support our 4-H Club, we are charging $3 per person.
Randy: Tell me about your 4-H Club.
Clair: Our 4-H Club is a group of young members right now. I do steer market beef. I feed it until it's all finished and I walk it, get it cleaned up so I can show it, and then I sell it for college money.
Randy: What else does your club do besides sell animals?
A couple of my friends who don't do livestock, did robotics for quite some time. There is sewing and cooking projects.
- Name: Cinco de Mayo Dance.
- Date: May 6th, 2023
- Time: 6 to 10 pm
- Cost: $3 at the door
- Music provided by Matt McKamey
Randy: Why Cinco de Mayo? What does that mean?
Clair: It means there's gonna be TACOS!!! So the entry fee is $3 per person. It's family friendly. The parking is free. Food is free. Just come and have fun. The money goes to our Chestnut Valley 4-H Club. It's a great opportunity for people to come see what our community is about.
Each year the Cascade County 4-H hold its county show and sale at the MT ExpoPark Livestock Pavilion. The kids that have participated in the livestock program for the 4-H year sell their animals in a live auction. The winning bidder keeps the high quality, local student raised meat from the animal.
