Fairfield Montana sits on the southern edge of Teton County.  According to the 2020 census the population was 759 residents. Fairfield has titled themselves the Malting Barley Capital of the World.  The farmers that call the area home raise over 83,000 acres of irrigated ground for malting barley and over 56,000 acres of dry land ground for malting barley. These are the team titles won.  There are many more individual titles in various sports.  Of course, don't forget about the incredible run of 120 consecutive wins by the Fairfield Girls from 2010-2015. Incidentally, I was in Choteau broadcasting the night the streak ended. I can still remember the emotion of the gymnasium that night and the class act that coach Dustin Gordon was in the post game interview. Incredible streak that may never be broke in Montana.

Academics is something that Fairfield has excelled in as well.  I do not want to leave any group out, but I will highlight the FFA program. Fairfield has had 1 National FFA Officer (1942 Roy Dee Meyer), 14 State FFA Officers and has won the State FFA Sweepstakes Team Competition 3 times.  The individual awards are too numerous to count and the accolades stack very high.

There are several things to admire about the town that is only 34 miles northwest of Great Falls.  They support their local businesses. They have a car dealership, a feed store, convenience store and many other businesses.  They are home to the Teton County Veteran Memorial. Take a look at the Picture Gallery below to see some of the sights in and around town.

Fairfield butts up against Freeze Out Lake and since the town is on the path to Glacier National Park, the traffic increases during the summer months. Even with the added congestion, people still wave and smile as you drive by.
