FDA Issues Public Health Warning to Montana Consumers About Dino Nuggets
So, I've shared a few recalls with you before but being totally transparent with you: this one hurts. A major health alert has been announced for a popular food item many of us feed our kids...
...or steal the final bites from them if they don't finish it.
Every Kid's Favorite Gets a Major Recall
I've got three kids and I can't tell you how many times I've found myself snacking on the food they left on their plate. Whether it was because I didn't want the food to go to waste or the fact that I was hungry myself, a lot of parents can relate to this scenario.
ESPECIALLY... with dino-nuggets.
Unfortunately for kids (and parents) across the country, a major health alert has been announced for the American treasure that is "dino nuggies."

"The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is issuing a public health alert for frozen, dinosaur-shaped, ready-to-eat chicken nuggets that may be contaminated with unsafe levels of lead," the FSIS said on their site, "A recall was not requested because the products are no longer available for purchase."
When I first read that part, I thought: "Oh good!" Then, I got to this part:
"However, FSIS is concerned that some product may still be in consumers’ freezers."
Cue the high-pitched goat scream, excuse me, what? That's terrifying, no? The fact that any one of us could have thrown down on some chicken dinos juiced up on some lead?
Where Were the Bad Dino Nuggets Sold?
According to the public health alert, the nuggets were produced on February 10th, 2026 and contains the following information on it's label:
- 29-oz. plastic bags containing approx. 36 “GREAT VALUE FULLY COOKED DINO SHAPED CHICKEN BREAST NUGGETS” with “BEST IF USED BY” date “FEB 10 2027,” lot code” 0416DPO1215,” and establishment number “P44164” printed on the back of the bag.
Apparently, the nuggets were shipped to Walmart stores nationwide so there's a chance these could be stored in your freezer. Check the bag, then throw them out.
Consuming lead is a terrible idea and could be especially problematic for pregnant women and of course, children. It could lead to nervous system issues and developing brains, which is horrifying, because these Dino Nuggets are specifically marketed towards children.
Be safe out there!
