Here Are Some Great Go To Desserts That Most Montanans Will Love
Almost everyone has a weakness for something. Whether it is a show, a special person or animal or in my case…..a sweet tooth. I am not a very good baker, so I have to get creative to liven up my dessert options at times.
I recently reached out on Face Book and asked what are some of the “go to” recipes that you use. Here is what I learned.
Go To Recipes
Michohn Lord: Fried tortilla shells with cinnamon and brown sugar
- So good, and so easy. I do something similar with pie crust dough. Roll it out, slather with butter, cinnamon and sugar and bake in the over at 350 degrees until it starts to turn a dark brown on the edges.
Jonna Vanderboom: Kid’s favorite, ice cream with sprinkles
- Never go wrong with ice Cream and Sprinkles
Ellen Sanderson: Caramel filled snickerdoodle cookies. Or caramel M&M cookies.
- Since I am not a baker, I will have to wait for Ellen to drop some off. These sound delicious!
Jennifer Brant: Strawberry Shortcake with Bisquick Shortcakes.
- This sounds incredible easy. Mix the strawberries in the batter or put on top of the finished cake with whipped topping. Even I can do that!
Nato S Galloway- Lava Cake
- I am a fan of chocolate!
Helen V Spinelli- Frozen Moose Tracks Yogurt
- Healthier Version of Ice Cream….I think?
Kerri Lee Tanner- Fruit Crumbles
- Kerri added, pick whatever fruit you want.
- I have put the apple pie crust on the bottom of a dish and poured a Bisquick batter over the top. Even it out, add granola crumble to the top, bake it off and serve with the Ice Cream of your choice.
- Quick, east and tasty!
Erika Evans-Ice Cream
- Again- this is hard to beat!
Sara Gilbert- Sugar Cookies from my Mom.
- Sounds great. How do I get a hold of your mom to get some? LOL
Not a "sugar cookie" yet these cookies have lots of sugar!
Bryan Vaden- Grilled Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich Sprinkled with Powder Sugar.
- My kids love this. Warm and gooey, almost like a jelly filled donut. I never put the powdered sugar on before, but will from now on!
Here are a couple of my quick “go to” dessert recipes.
- Any frozen candy bar. Snickers, or M&M’s or whatever you like. Warning- if you have sensitive teeth, do not do this. The cold and crunch of the candy may be painful to someone with sensitive teeth!
- Toast 2 Leggo Waffles- spread you favorite Ice Cream on one of them and use the other to make a sandwich. This is a great Ice Cream Sandwich! If you prefer a less messy version, use one of the toasted waffles as the base and scoop Ice Cream on top. Add you favorite toppings and east with a fork and knife. Quick and easy, and something a little different.
- Frozen bananas are great. I know, most people freeze bananas to use for Banana Bread. I like the texture and sweetness in a frozen banana. Just like the frozen candy bard, be careful if you have sensitive teeth.
Tell me what I missed and I will update the story.
