Great Falls Public Schools is marking a major community milestone with a ribbon-cutting at its new CORE charter school.

This event is significant because it marks the first public charter school in the state of Montana.

After the ribbon-cutting, refreshments and guided tours will be provided through the new facility.

It's crazy to think about, but the first day of school for Great Falls public school system is just around the corner.

The school year kicks off on Wednesday, August 28th.

Over 300 students kindergarten through sixth grade will fill the halls of Great Falls public schools this year.
