FBI Offers $5,000 Reward In Montana Fire Department Theft
The FBI is now offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of whoever stole about $60,000 worth of firefighting equipment from a Montana fire department.
The theft happened back on August 8 at the Heart Butte Fire Department, when someone broke into the fire hall, ransacked the building, and took equipment and supplies that firefighters rely on.

Some Stolen Firefighting Equipment Has Been Recovered
You may remember JD Knight first reporting on the break-in back in August. Then in September he reported that some of the stolen items had already been recovered with help from the FBI and Blackfeet Reservation law enforcement.
At the time, the department said firefighters and other agencies had stepped up to help replace some of the equipment that was stolen.
Now, NBC Montana is reporting that FBI investigators are hoping the cash reward will convince someone to come forward and help them catch whoever was responsible.

How to Report Information About the Montana Fire Department Theft
It's obviously pretty awful to steal from a fire department in the first place, but taking equipment that firefighters need during emergencies could have had some very serious consequences.
The FBI says anyone with information can contact its Billings Field Office at 406-248-8487, their local FBI office, or the nearest FBI office. Tips can also be submitted online.
