This article is in honor of  National Pizza Pie day- February 9th and the fact that Super Bowl Sunday is a huge food day and Pizza will be center of the food attraction for many parties.  It is estimated that 12.5 million pizzas were purchased for Super Bowl LVI in 2022.  The question I am going to ask is, with Pineapple or without.  Read on to see what the answer is.

According to Pequod’s Pizza, N Clybourn Ave in Chicago the top ten toppings are

• Pepperoni
• Mushroom
• Extra Cheese
• Sausage
• Onion
• Black Olive
• Green Pepper
• Fresh Garlic
• Tomato
• Fresh Basil

I would say there are several other toppings that I think should be on a list of favorites including

• Ground Beef
• Canadian Bacon
• Bacon
• Salami
• Spicy Sausage
• Sauerkraut

Obviously, not all of these toppings are for everyone.  Most of the time I prefer to pick off of the “specialty pizza” menu.  There are many options including

• Meat Lovers/ All Meat
• Taco
• Vegetarian Lovers/ All Vegetables
• Buffalo Chicken
• BBQ Pizza
• Supreme
• Pepperoni Lovers
• Hawaiian Pizza

When it comes to the crust, I prefer the thin and crispy, but once again there are a wide variety of choices

• Thin Crust
• Thick Crust
• Stuffed Crust
• Deep Dish
• Personal Pan

Don’t forget about the age-old argument of who has the best style- Chicago Style or New York Style Pizza.  My guess, it is entirely where you grew up.

Another huge argument, who has the best pizza in town. We have so many great pizzas places and bars and restaurants that offer pizza alongside a full menu.  My guess, that answer will never be solved.

So- let’s get back to the question about pineapple- Yes or No. YouGov Omnibus data stated that 12% of their responders think Pineapple belongs on pizza.  I am part of the 88% who say no. Where do you stand?
