Montana Radio Host Infuriates Taylor Swift Fans With 5-Word Post
Well, if there's one thing I've learned today, it's this: the Taylor Swift fan base is extremely passionate.
So much so, they're willing to do whatever it takes to keep her reputation spotless and uphold the greatness she has bestowed upon the entertainment industry.
Montana Radio Host Defends Taylor Swift
Allow me to preface this by stating the obvious: I have nothing against Taylor Swift. As a matter of fact, my five-year-old daughter can't get enough of her and has streamed her Eras Tour in our living room countless times.
I love what she has done for charity, for the music and entertainment industry, and I especially loved when she re-recorded her albums to regain control of her music when Scooter Braun bought her original masters.

And for those wondering: no, I don't care if the NFL cameras pan to her during the game.
I've even written about Taylor and Travis' visit to Montana back in March of this year and back in 2024, I warned "Swifties" about a dangerous scam utilizing the star's likeness to steal personal information.
All of this to reiterate: I have nothing against Taylor Swift.
Montana Radio Host Sparks Controversy with 5-Word Post
So if I support Swift, what could I have said to spark controversy?
Yesterday, Swift was spotted on the sidelines of the NBA Finals with friends, cheering on the Knicks in full New York Knicks gear. Once the Knicks made the largest comeback in NBA Finals history to win the game over my beloved San Antonio Spurs, Swift was spotted jumping up and down, celebrating with friends.
As is her right.
I, like a lot of people, saw this (because let's face it - it's good TV/social media/etc.) and then experienced a little bit of dejavu.
"Didn't I just see Taylor rooting for the Cleveland Cavaliers on TV? The team that was trying to eliminate the New York Knicks? The team she's now celebrating?"
I look it up and sure enough, there's a photo of Swift and Travis Kelce giving a standing applause to whatever is happening on Cleveland's court. Kelce is wearing Cavs gear, Swift is not.

I notice the date: May 23, 2026. In under two and a half weeks, I witnessed a megastar cheer for Cleveland then the rival New York Knicks.
I put both photos together with dates and posted it with a 5-word question in the caption that has led to batches of criticism from Taylor Swift fans and supporters:
"So... Which is it, Taylor?"
It's a playful question and one that any of us might ask that coworker we saw show up in a rival's jersey just a few weeks after wearing their old team jersey.
But that didn't matter. Swifties were quick to jump in, calling me out for not being aware Taylor has been rocking New York Knicks gear since 2014.
Why would I look that up? How would I remember that?
"It’s weird that there’s only ever an issue when it’s a woman who’s enjoying a game," one person wrote. "It’s even more weird that men think we should care about aligning ourselves (and our entire personalities) to one team, and one team only."
"You really thought you were onto something with this, didn't you?" another commented. "It's embarrassing that as a grown man, especially in your field, that this is what you chose to do with your time. But I'm assuming if she came to your radio show you'd be graceful and respect the hell out of here, huh?"

"It's obvious to anyone with more than two brain cells that she was there supporting Travis who is a Cavs fan while also rooting on her team. Taylor has been a Knicks fan and has been going to games for years."
"Another man trying to knock a female down for ummm supporting her team," another shared. "Bet you feel and look even more stupid finding out shes been a knicks fan for years."
And then my favorite comment: "It’s called joy, Chris. Let her live it you useless turd."
Is The Backlash Over Questioning Taylor Swift's Fandom Justified?
I recently noticed a Knicks radio host is facing criticism for calling Taylor Swift a "fake fan" on a hot mic.
Here's my thing though - so what? What if he did? It's sports. That's what this is all about.
Are we not allowed to poke fun at the most pointless of things like a celebrity's sports fandom? Does a 5-word post questioning the fandom of Taylor Swift, who was prominently highlighted at both Cleveland and New York games, mean that you are trying to bring women down and take a dump on Taylor Swift, the human?
I didn't think so but according to some Swifties, "I'm the problem."
