2023  MAGIE is a little over a week away. One agricultural group that will be in attendance is J. G. Boswell, a company headquartered in Pasadena, California and was founded in 1925. The company produces, processes and markets crops, as well as livestock operations throughout Central California. Spokesperson Nick Kastle talked about an opportunity he's offering Montana producers when he is here at MAGIE.

Nick: We are cotton growers, primarily Pima, extra-long staple. We do processing tomatoes and pistachios as well as safflower. So we've actually partnered with the Montana Farmers Union, and we're hosting a grower meeting. Basically what we're trying to do is we're trying to partner with Montana growers for safflower. We have one of the operations we have at Boswell is a High-Oleic oil mill. So we process edible grade oils, and we're looking for basically to get some supply of some High-Oleic safflower for our oil needs. So that'll be at the MAGIE show. We're doing a cocktail hour, and we're doing some food and some drinks. It will be a good time, and we're hoping to get some people interested to come out and learn about what we do and see how we can partner together. It's going to be the (Thursday the) 19th at 3:00, and the building is going to be the Paddock Club. So it's the building just south of the rodeo grounds at the Expo Park.

Nick gave us the name of a local contact if you have questions.

Nick: We partnered with United Grain, and they're kind of our boots on the ground out there. The person would be Blake Brawley, and his phone number is 406-350-4217. And we're working in tandem with them. They're going to be handling a lot of the seed for us.

2023 MAGIE starts on Wednesday January 18th and concludes on Friday January 20th.  Tickets are available at any of the vendors or at the KMON studio, 914 13th Ave South.
