Randy is Being Recruited By The United States Army- Should He Join
I have recently been approached by an Army recruiter about considering the opportunities that the United States Army can provide me and my future. I am strongly considering it. What are your thoughts- should I, or are there better options for me with other branches of the military. These are big decisions for me to make. Please keep reading as I lay out what I know about the Army.
According to Wikipedia, the Army is the oldest and most senior branch of military for the United States. It is designed to protect the land and falls under the department of defense. The continental Army was established June 14th, 1775 to fight against the British.
This article is meant to be humorous and in no way is meant to disrespect the military. I am a strong supporter of the military, active duty, guard and all of those that have served! The United States of America is the best country in the world due to our military strength and I hope that never changes.
Here is the exchange I had with the recruiter through my DM on Facebook:
Army Recruiter: Hey Randy! As an Army Recruiter, I wanted to reach out to you and share an incredible opportunity to serve your country, develop valuable skills, and make a meaningful impact! The Army offers a unique and rewarding experience that can open doors to a brighter future! With cutting-edge training, competitive benefits, and the chance to be part of a proud tradition of service, the Army can provide you with the tools and resources to thrive in any situation. Whether you’re seeking adventure, camaraderie, or a sense of purpose, the Army has something for you!
Randy: Sign me up! Before you do though, I am 53 years old, over weight, have type II diabetes and my eyes aren't very good anymore. Find a spot for me and I am all in.
Army Recruiter: There’s a waiver for everything, sir!!
I absolutely appreciate the effort that this recruiter is showing in his duties. I am not using his name because he was doing his job and he handled my response very well. I did offer him the following:
Randy: On a serious note- thank you for your service! I hope you find some great candidates. If you are in or near Great Falls and ever want to talk on the radio, let me know. I will find a time that you can tell your story during the morning show on 560 KMON AM. Blessings to you!
Army Recruiter: On your offer, I’m pretty sure my boss would have NO problem with me hopping on air with you! I would have to get with him when he gets back!
Auditioning for the role of Army Soldier- am I convincing?
