There's some exciting news for food lovers in Great Falls: a new seafood restaurant is headed to town!

Not quite a year ago, Black Bear Diner, located in the marketplace, announced that it would be closing its doors.

Personally, I liked Black Bear Diner, but it became clear that they were having trouble hiring and keeping employees, which led to a downturn in business.

Fast-forward to last July, I stumbled across a Facebook post suggesting a new tenant might be moving into the old Black Bear Diner in the Marketplace.

Long story short, the Facebook post advertised some of the old Black Bear Diner furniture for sale because a new tenant would be moving in.

Not long after that article, we started asking what you would like to see replace the old Black Bear Diner.👇

While chatting with a friend the other day, I learned that a graphics company here in town recently put up a sign for a new seafood restaurant.

Needless to say, this immediately peaked my attention, and here's what I found…

I stopped by the old Black Bear Diner, and sure enough, the sign was up!

It does not appear that Ocean Star Seafood Company is a national chain; I couldn't find much about them online.

There is an Ocean Star Seafood Company in Oregon, which appears to sell fresh fish, but that's about it.

I'm not sure when the new restaurant will open, but one thing is for sure: I'm definitely excited!
