Tyson Foods is rolling out a new branded beef program called Brazen Beef.  Brett DeBruycker of DeBruycker Charolais is inviting producers to check it out.

Brett: On Friday, March 31st at 5:30 p.m. at Western Livestock Auction, we have representatives from Tyson Fresh Foods, IMI Global and Adams Land and Livestock, the big feedlot in Nebraska coming up. Those representatives are going to talk to the people in the audience about the new branded beef program that Tyson is coming out with.

What we're hoping for is that ranchers in the surrounding area can take the time to come in and attend this meeting and try to learn about this new branded beef program to see what's coming in the future so they can determine if they want to take part in something like this or not, or if it's an opportunity for them or not. I really think this is a chance to be up front and personal with some higher ups in Tyson Foods that can tell you what's coming and try to learn as much as possible.

It is not breed specific, but they're going to be doing tests to determine which breeds and which breeders and which ranchers really fit the program and can take advantage of it.

Tyson Foods offered this description of the Branded Beef Program

About Brazen™ Beef and the Climate Smart Beef Program

Brazen Beef is a climate friendly first-of-its-kind beef product developed through Tyson Foods’ Climate Smart Beef program, which combines tried-and-true rancher ingenuity with the latest data and technology. The program includes the development of a measurement framework that quantifies GHG emissions for cattle from pasture to production. To date, cattle enrolled in the program have demonstrated at least a 10% GHG emissions reduction from pasture to production against the standard emissions for conventionally raised beef. Cattle used for Brazen Beef products are enrolled in Tyson Foods’ Climate Smart Beef Program for emission reduction from pasture to production. www.BrazenMeats.com
