Weird Bike On Rivers Edge Trail
As you can imagine, maintaining 50 miles of trail along the river can be quite challenging.
To collect data on the River's Edge Trail and assess its overall condition, the City of Great Falls has partnered with a Texas-based business to examine our trail system.
Roadway Asset Services, LLC (RAS) from Austin, TX has brought a fleet of rather interesting-looking bikes to Great Falls to begin their survey of the river's edge trail system.
These bikes are outfitted and equipped with digital cameras that will meticulously capture images of the trail's pavement and overall condition.
The company expects to be surveying the river's edge trail for the next two weeks or so.
“This study marks a significant step forward in our efforts to maintain and improve the River’s Edge Trail,” stated a spokesperson from Public Works Engineering. “The collected data will provide valuable insights that will guide future maintenance and enhancement initiatives.”
