Weird things that have happened in montana and one was in Great Falls
Boy, Montana sure has had some weird things happen over the years. In doing some research here they are in my order.
First is the state's goofy law that bans sheep in the cab of a a truck without a chaperone. It's still okay to ship sheep around but not in the cab of your truck. I wonder if it's okay for a wolf in sheep's clothing to be in the cab.
How about a Few bear stories for our list.
Back in 2013 a black bear entered Bozeman High School and proceeded to wonder through the school. It was learned later that the bear entered through an open garage door in the back of the school in the morning before school started. The bear later left the school and was never captured.
In 2010, so the story goes, a woman in Frenchtown was able to fend off a black bear with a 14-inch zucchini. The woman let her dogs out before going to bed not knowing the bear was in the area. The bear then attacked her collie. She ran out and kicked the bear and then ran back into the house and came out with the zucchini. She threw the veggie, hitting the bear dead-center in the head. The bear fled and the woman and dogs were safe.
In 1967, two grizzly bears mauled two women to death on the same night in Glacier park. It was the first reported grizzly death on a human in the park since 1910.
In 2013, one of the weirdest stories ever in Montana. A woman in Livingston found the face of a man at a car wash. Police say an 81 year old man was walking along the interstate when he was hit by several vehicles. Apparently at least one of the vehicles that hit the man went to the car wash to clean off their vehicle.
And how about the strange story from 1950 out of Great Falls. Several witnesses reported seeing a UFO over Malmstrom Air Force Base. There were even pictures taken of it by Nick Mariana. He was the GM of the Great Falls minor league baseball team. They were called the electrics back then. But the name of the team was later changed to the Voyagers in honor of the UFO sighting.
And do I even need to mention Ted Kaczynski? The unabomber who lived in a tiny cabin in Lincoln?
