When it to comes to big name stars, Great Falls only gets a few at a time.  Sometimes they pass through on vacation or are in the area to fish or hunt.  Some come to Great Falls to perform.

How many “stars” have you met and what is the best story you have about meeting them? I don’t have any great stories, but have had the chance to meet several famous people in my travels.

Keep reading to see pictures of some of the people I have been lucky enough to meet and talk to.

Some people might not think they are “stars” but politicians are some of the most powerful people in the country.

Time to move to the entertainment industry.  That is where most people would put the label of "stars" after someones name.  Montana is home to several stars including the original Yahoo Yodeler- the guy that did the yodel for Yahoo.  Wylie Gustafson.  Reba McEntire likes to spend time in the area as well as Red Steagall, all 3 of country music fame.

My son got a kick out of "Fluffy" rubbing my belly

I sat on the Montana State Fair Board for six years and had the opportunity to meet many of the performers that came to the state fair.  Obviously none of these famous people cared who I was or remember meeting me, but it was fun for me.  Several times I was able to introduce my kids to them.

Okay I do a have funny story

Lee Brice was performing at the fair and Jim Sargent set up a radio interview with him in the livestock pavilion.  I knew ahead of time so I talked to the 4-H about having a few kids there to greet him.  My daughter was one of the kids that came to see him. After Lee’s interview with Sarge I introduced myself to him.  He was very polite and friendly until he looked over my shoulder and saw my daughter.  He immediately smiled big, reached past me and said “Hello Darling, nice to meet you.”

Excuse me Mr Brice....that's my daughter!

I am not sure if my daughter has washed her sweatshirt that she was wearing that day or if it is preserved in some sort of shrine. Great performer!
