A former mathematician, Ted Kaczynski moved to the relatively remote town of Lincoln, Montana, in 1971.
Known as a recluse by members of the community, Ted Kaczynski lived a self-sufficient lifestyle in a tiny cabin without electricity or running water.
Not long after moving to the Treasure State, he became the subject of an extensive FBI investigation.

FBI Investigation Of Ted Kaczynski
The investigation into Ted Kaczynski became the most prolonged and most extensive case the FBI had ever had up until that point.
He was finally arrested in 1996 for murdering three individuals between 1978 and 1995 and injuring 23 others through a nationwide mail bombing campaign.
The bombs were sent to people that Ted Kaczynski believed were advancing modern technology and causing the destruction of the environment.
Ted Kaczynski Autopsy Details
NBC News was able to reveal that Ted Kaczynski was diagnosed with stage 4 rectal cancer in March of 2021.
Reports also indicated he battled depression leading up to his death in June of 2023.
It is unclear if Ted Kaczynski's depression directly resulted in suicide.
However, questions have risen as to whether or not his suicide could have been prevented.
