
Introducing The New Chief of Great Falls Fire Rescue
Back in October 2025, former Great Falls Fire Chief Jeremy Jones assumed the role of Deputy City Manager. Now, the city is celebrating Jones' appointment of the new chief of the Great Falls Fire Rescue.
Meet The New Chief for Great Falls Fire Rescue
In an announcement shared to social media yesterday, Great Falls Fire Rescue announced the appointment of their new chief.
"Please join us in welcoming our new Fire Chief, Jeremy Virts of Great Falls Fire Rescue," the post said, "Chief Virts has dedicated more than two decades to public safety and to serving the Great Falls community."
"Throughout his career, he has earned the respect of those he serves alongside and the community he works to protect."'

According to National Today, Virts first began his career as an officer with Great Falls back in 2000 before joining GFFR in 2006.
"This achievement reflects his commitment to supporting the members of this department, serving this community with trust and accountability, and strengthening outreach and engagement with the people we serve," Great Falls Fire Rescue said in their statement.
"Congratulations Chief Virts, we wish you the best as you begin this next chapter leading Great Falls Fire Rescue."
Virts Reacts To Being Appointed New Chief of GFFR
Chief Virts shared his excitement and enthusiasm with National Today.
"It is an honor and privilege to lead this department," Chief Virts said in a statement.

"My focus will be on working to ensure our members are prepared and supported to serve our community safely and effectively, while strengthening partnerships and staying engaged with the people we are here to protect."
