With only a few weekends remaining until Memorial Weekend, many of us are probably getting the camper or boat ready for a weekend of fun.  We are all ready for the first long weekend of the spring, ready to launch into the summer months in Montana.

Another group is also gearing up for the Memorial Weekend, albeit a little more on the somber side, but still a celebration of our incredible military members and the heritage they have not just in Montana, but right here in Great Falls.

How to Attend the Montana Veterans Memorial Service in Great Falls

The Montana Veterans Memorial Association (MVMA) has announced that the 21st Annual Memorial Day Ceremony will be hosted at the Veteran's Memorial in Great Falls, Montana.  The celebration will begin at 1pm on May 25, 2026.

The event will feature several guest speakers during the service, including author, historian and Retired United States Navy Capt. Ken Robison for the service.  According to the public affairs release, "341st Operations Support Squadron Commander Lt. Col. Brian Chetkowski, will serve as the keynote speaker, Chaplain (1st Lt.) Sean Barley will deliver the invocation, and members of the Malmstrom Honor Guard will present the colors" during the ceremonies of the day.

Other highlights of the annual ceremony include a flyover "conducted by an aircrew flying a C-130 Hercules transport aircraft assigned to the Montana Air National Guard’s 120th Airlift Wing, honoring U.S. military personnel who have died in service."

Other scheduled events during the ceremony feature the Scouts of America reading the Pledge of Allegiance, and featured bands including the Great Fall Municipal Band and the Great Falls Pipe Band will be performing for attendees.  More details are available on the event here.
