Temporary Detour Along Rivers Edge Trail
Temporary Detour Along Rivers Edge Trail
Whether walking, hiking, biking, or riding a scooter, there's nothing better than exploring the Missouri River along the River's Edge Trail in Great Falls.
We're pretty fortunate in Great Falls, Montana, to have over 50 miles of trail along the Missouri River in our backyard right now.
Rivers Edge Trail Closure
NorthWestern Energy is working to upgrade a few existing powerlines near the Ryan Dam.
These dams run south across the Missouri River and in the Rivers Trail area near Rainbow Dam.
For safety reasons, the River Edge Trail on the south side of the Missouri River, just east of the Rainbow Dam, will be temporarily closed while these repairs are being made.
The closure is expected to last until mid-June.
NorthWestern Energy is asking all trail users to be aware of signs in the area and utilize the detour.
Below is a map with all the dams around Great Falls as a reference.
