It's no secret that Montana is renowned for its numerous recreational opportunities.

Arguably, one of the most popular summertime activities is getting out and floating on the river.

You can do this in multiple ways, whether it be kayaking, paddle boarding, whitewater rafting, or even floating in a drift boat, hoping to snag an epic fish.

But one thing is for sure: the secret is out regarding water recreation in Montana, and managing the traffic has become a priority of the Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks Department.

If you've spent any amount of time on the water recently, you know that fishing accesses, boat ramps, and just about every river in Montana are swamped with people.

Montana River Recreation Advisory Council

The Montana River Recreation Advisory Council, administered by the Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks Department, was established to develop recommendations for managing river recreation in the Treasure State.

To help with this task, they have recently released a survey in order to get feedback on the growing topic.

Montana Water Recreation Survey

The rising popularity of Montana's waterways has led to various conflicts among users.

This survey is designed to receive feedback on congested waterways and access sites across Montana.

The survey also focuses on the importance of protecting aquatic and terrestrial resources.
